Born in Khorixas on the 15th of March 1989 and baptized as Efraim Aoxamub ,he now goes by the stage name PHONO has released his first album titled THUBAHETS NI in 2015 under the wings of Welwitschia Music Production based in Swakopmund under the management of Steven Alvin !Naruseb.
Phono attended school in Khorixas where he was born and raised by his aunt Annalise Besuidenhoud.He than moved to Swakopmund in search of a job in 2012 where he approached Steven Alvin ! Naruseb (owner, producer and manager of Welwitschia Music production) to sign him up as a recording artist under his record label(Welwitschia Music Production).His first single titled /Gora xu-es !gom tama that was a hit song amongst the Damara Nama people since the song itself had a strong message was released later that same year on the Tulamo She Tuleemo collection album that’s a combination album of different artist that’s released by Welwitschia music production, that’s where Welwitschia signed him up for a full studio recording artist .IN 2015 PHONO released his first full album titled TSUBAHETS NI that is well received by fans across the country.
